iv been viseting thailand for 11 years now normaly 3/4 months each trip
from south to norf iv stayd in numeres resorts and provinces
from wild west party resorts to child out beech placesand the full moon island
these days i can b found in cha am from late september to mid febuary its my home
cha am is one of thailand top thai holiday resorts the thais just love it
situated 2 hours from bangkok its very excesable with a very long nice sandy beech
its a thai resort for thais excepr
soi bus stop
this is where the farang population liv
plenty of top notch farang resterants and quieter bars/bar bears
it aint no pattaya
but theres plenty on offer
as a keen fisherman the lake fishing is exelant
also acomidaition is great
for a beech resort it has to b cheapest in thailand
a condo with a shared pool is 7 000 baht a month plus electrik
or 3 star hotells r available for 5000 baht a month (100 uk pound)
as iv said iv stayed long times in many resorts and provinces
but after geting sik of the 14 hour bus or the flights to krabi cha am is great
also the heat
as a pattaya based freind of mine said the other day cha am is dam hot
usaly 20 degrees hoter than pattaya/
cha am as the least amount of rain in thailand
so there you go a great beech resort with nearly al round sun plenty of freindly ladies and farang bars resterants and super markets
at 5 to 7 000 baht a month
maby see you there october time first beer on me

buses to cha am /hua hin from bkk run from 5am till 10 pm and yes walking from condos to the beech/shops /bars is minits
these r month prices weekly is litle more but stil very cheap for a beech resort

myself and galee have been to cha am .

very very quiet place with a long beach front as spiderdaz says mostly used by thais from bangkok .

sure there are restuarants , sure there are bars and sure there is a small selection of p4p girls .

however i couldnt imagine staying there long term as there is not enough to the place as its basically a small fishing town with a small fishing port .

hua hin is only 20 minutes or so away by car and bangkok about an hour and 30 minutes away .

short break yeah ok , but unless your looking for solitude i couldnt see many folk staying there long term .

after many many 3 month vacations in patts and owning a house in ko panghan and 3 long stints in samuie cha am suits me now
not evryones cup of tea for sure but location to party places the price and the welcome you get does it for me

In my previous shorter visits I would often do Bkk-Samui-then catamaran/bus to Hua Hin then taxi or bus to bangers finishing with a week or so in Patts, never got to visit Cha Am but Hua Hin is ok, nice and chilled and a small selection of P4P. There is/was? a great venue called the Hua Hin Brewery near the Hilton where the locals go, plenty of FL's in there and just ordinary Thais many from Bangers on weekend breaks.

ps note to Parky, plenty hi-so for you matey wink.gif
