Some sobering, current stats:

In New York City, 1 in 40 blacks, 1 in 10 men who have sex with men, and 1 in 8 injection-drug users are HIV-infected, as are 1 in 16 black men in Washington, D.C.2 In several U.S. urban areas, the HIV prevalence among men who have sex with men is as high as 30%3 — as compared with a general-population prevalence of 7.8% in Kenya and 16.9% in South Africa.

I wonder why California has not been included ? Other research suggests that it has the second highest number of AIDS sufferers after New York?

Having to be aware of stuff like this through my job, any recent research i've read or any Sexual Health Professionals that i've spoken to have said that going by the stats, Nigeria, Thailand and Brazil are the current top 3 places to contract HIV through sexual practice.

Obviously different countries such as the US with lots more IV drug users would make the figures different.

I just had my full screen last week at the local GUM, all clean. And i can sit here and promise myself that i won't, but i know i'll be barebacking in April again at some stage

Not advocating it, just being honest.

But that's a whole other thread.....

Only read the quoted part, but would reckon that more people are tested for HIV in USA, than Africa.

Just got my all clear, as thats been 3 months since I got back from los.

Why do blacks in the major cities of the US have such high AIDS percentage, anyone know?
