Now it might not seem like a cause for celebration to some people, but after a long wait Udon Thani finally has its very own McDonalds. Not just any old Muky D either - this one is a 24hr drive "thru" with a mcCafe and delivery service.
Funny as you like today to watch the locals trying to get their heads round the concept, in the 20 mins I was there I would say 95% came into the McCafe to order their food and then take away. Others were actually using the drive-thru then getting off bikes/out of cars and eating the food in the McCafe
In my experience the Thais tend to remove the one redeeming feature of farang fast food ie. it is fast meaning not long to wait, but in fairness it was all good today and no doubt I will go back.

Oh shit...... fat Udon chicks in another few years then. Penguin watching in Robinsons will never be the same.

i rode by KFC a few minutes ago, the place is packed to the rafters, everyone munching down the chicken and fries... It won't be long now....
