This question pops up on every board now and again.

My missus has just told me that my step daughter is learning how to use a computer. Mine is about 3 years old now. Its a compaq PresarioV6000. Bigleg fixed it for me last year because i had fucked it up one night when i thought i was Billgates.............while pissed as a bastard on E.

I have been pondering about buying a new laptop for a while and i have always said ill get a MAC. I am well aware of the rivalry between mac and PC, but i have yet to hear about someone changing to Mac and going back to PC.

I travel a lot, so which MACbook would be the best buy for me? I do not do that much with my laptop, i use it for DLing music, burning CD's and poncing about the internet.............

For the laptop i use now........can i get Thai keys and Thai language installed in it??? Bigleg you'll be the man to answer this.....................

Yes, Bigleg or another techie will have something specific, I'm sure. But I know you can install the Thai fonts with any Windows disk you buy at Tuk.com

I can't remember the exact steps to do so, but you don't have to re-install Windows. I did it awhile ago on my laptop and can switch from English to Thai fonts with a mouse click.

I would not touch Macs , people eho have them love them but 98% of the world is PC so why teach your nippers a Mac, (Mind you they could probably learn both) Macs are good for designers.

I got a Toshiba 18 months old 17" it is, brilliant.

Valley is your man PM he is great with IT

Not too familar with Macs, Alot of people use them for Graphics.but I find them hard to use as I have only ever used a PC
If you are a DJ and using mixing software, then 4gb of ram and a Intel Core2duo or Dual core Amd x2 Processor,
any laptop with those 2 things and you will have a fast laptop. Alot of Dj's are now using laptops, maybe you might
be better to go onto a music forum and ask their. incase there is something specific you need to have, other than that
if you want a fast laptop most
brands with what I quoted above will be good.

Every DJ i know that uses a laptop for DJing uses Macs. This sounds like me being a dickhead but i am buying a Mac, there is no grey area here my mind is made up. I will not be using it for this as i like using the CD's

Can i put mylaptop into Tukcom and have all the keys changed so they have Thai lettering on the keys too? My daughter will be getting my old Compaq laptop which i am on now and will be learning how to use a PC on a PC NOT a MAC.

Cheers for the help welshy

Yes in Tukcomm they will change the language for you to Thai if that is what you want on there and the keys just need a sticker on each key either Thai characters or Thai and English together.

Heard these should be easy enough for you to use? Probably get one quite cheap as well? Not sure about the processor or memory but it would possibly suffice?

get the most expensive one, as Macs last forever
.Q.
So far so good. It'll take time to get used to stuff. The Iphoto is a bit tricky and i have not touched the videos yet. As people say, it is a lot easier to use than normal PC.

if I recall you've got an i-Phone too, so it should work pretty seamlessly with i-Tunes on the Mac

Well Bigleg put windows 7 and Thai lettering onto my old laptop that i have given to my step daughter. He has installed a programme that changes the WHOLE PC into Thai

It is possible to run a pc in dual language mode, there is normally a little icon on the task bar that toggles between the chosen languages, I used to use this at work between English and Hungarian, I've seen it in English/Thai too. Over at Tukcom they have keyboard overlays for about 150baht, some have lovely little hello kitty or pokemon characters on them and the Thai keys, they probably only fit on a standard PS2 keyboard though, luckily mine is Eng/Thai keyboard as I bought it here.

Bigleg told me this program was new to windows 7
.Q.
I am in love with it and i have even covered it in cling film and masturbated all over it 5 times now. Ultra user friendly and does not have all the silly pop up windows that PC's have asking " are you sure, are you really really sure?" etc etc etc
