although i live on the east side of pattaya , i seldom go out in that side of town , and i wondered were the good places to go for a meal were on that side of town .
ive not been in all that many places on that side of town for food so dont really know the lie of the land that much .
for me , for a proper meal in a nice atmosphere with the right ambience , the best ive had is sure park steak house .
i also love the food in anns garden , which is mostly german food but delicious .
cafe uno does some good stuff .
dao cafe do some decent but basic foods , i quite like the pepper steaks and the burgers but im not into the thin cut pizzas that others rave about .
only ever had a burger in route 69 but it was delicious , top stuff , i wonder what the rest of their menu is like .
the red lion on soi khao talo is not so good and i ll not be back there again .
the little thai market type food stalls facing nois bar are great value and taste lovely if your in to your thai food .
but there are literally hundreds of places over there ive never tried , especially around the lakeside .
ive tried a few of them , but nothing spectacular to report , with only sure park sticking out as a nice place to have a meal with the wife , friends or family , while anns kitchen is to be remembered for the food and value for many .
so were are the hidden gems and what are your recommendations .

should have added the mapbrachan resort to my list of good places to go were the food is good in comfortable surroundings .

Ticino does pretty good Italian, and a nice environment.
The Fishermans on Mabprachan does pretty good Indian- the only place in Pattaya that I've tried that betters it is the Tikka Hut.
Agree re Anns, and I'm looking forward to trying Uno.
The steak at Manneke piss is good, as is the Belgian beef stew.
Rendezvous is a newish place on the lake that is getting a good reputation for English stodge at the right price- overall I agree, but their chips are shite. Go with mash though, and it's fine. The Thai food is good too.
Apart from Sunday roast, I've gone right off Sure Park.

If you want really good Thai food (place is full of BKK and local Thais) try ''Dtee Khor Muu Yang''
Go all the way down Soi Nern Plubwaan.. Turn left at the juction opposite the Wat go along 500m and on the left is a big car park with a red brick wall.. There is a small red sigh with a picture of a pig and ''Dtee Kor Muu Yang'' in Thai script.. If you like Thai food made for Thais (not watered down farang shite) you'll be very pleased...
