i want to open a thread where we can all post our own personal stories remembering great times with one of the biggest piss-takers we've ever known
i know it's hard at the moment but in time i hope many people will post a funny story or a quip or specific memory of the man who was a friend and guide to many of us, a great drinking partner, a raconteur and a wind up merchant of the highest order

will love you forever lee xxxxx

my story relates the night when the pie man came to the bar and had been festering for 12 months over a comment made, he had been down the gym for 12 months and looked more than a resemblance of hulk hogan.
lee spent 2 hours talking to this guy and clearing the air and 1 or 2 guys there were looking for it kicking off but no lee knew exactly how to keep it right on the edge but not push it over........eventually the handshake and hug and all was well. everybody sat back and relaxed......the very next sentence from lee ' for a body builder you've got hands like a girl ' well of course the fuckin table fell about the guy was a beaten man, he did have hands like a girl! i still chuckle now thinking about it

please feel free in your own time to add your anecdote remembering the great man

respect

Like I said on the condolence thread I only met Lee once which was in the Rockhouse 2 years I think it was. I didn't think he knew who I was but he came over to me like he had known me for years and starting talking in a broad Stoke accent that I have and we were having a good laugh with lots of ale thrown in and he was telling me of all the good nights he had out on the lash here in Stoke.

One of them guys that you think about from time to time and think yeah what a sound guy he is.

R.I.P me duck.

He was a monkey, first time I met him he tripped me up I looked round and he said YOU KNOW THAT, then a few days later the rascal did it again and said NOT FOR ME RONNIE, he had a smile as big as a mile, you could not like him a monkey a first rate monkey...

Missed dont do it...... his fucking grin made me smile no matter what he did

one person who probably WONT miss him, lives in the UK and probably hasnt been able to hear the news.

According to Lee, he was a coiffeur in his former life, ( hair cutter) and only quit the job / got squeezed out...when he slipped up and snipped some bird's ear off while cutting her hair. funny as fuck, and he was serious.

I remember one particular night, a few years back, while I was playing at Leo’s, Lee and a few of the “Darkside Crew” strolled in for a few rounds (I was a Brightsider back then, knew fuck all about the Darkside other than Noi’s). Anyway, I finish up my set and was de-sweating at the bar and getting a refill and the next thing I hear is the Thai band is breaking into My Way. I looked up at the stage and there he was, Lee Sinatra, hair slicked black, microphone in hand, rock & roll stance, given it all he’s got……..His Way. That was maybe the third or forth time I had enjoyed the pleasure of his company, but it sticks out in my mind, used to rib him about occasionally over a cold one…

Someone had it on video, I thought I had a copy, I’ll keep looking and put it up on youtube…

*************

Lee knew how to have a good time and enjoy life, and if you were with him, you’d have to be a complete “lump” not feel it and to have a good time too!!!

*************

My Way

And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain.
My friend, I'll say it clear,
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain.

I've lived a life that's full.
I've traveled each and ev'ry highway;
And more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets, I've had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption.

I planned each charted course;
Each careful step along the byway,
But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew.
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall;
And did it my way.

I've loved, I've laughed and cried.
I've had my fill; my share of losing.
And now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.

To think I did all that;
And may I say - not in a shy way,
" Oh no, oh no not me,
I did it my way".

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels;
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows -
And did it my way!

yeah, I remember that one. That was just the straw that broke the camel's back I suppose.
Prior to that apparently he had put someone's permanent curlers on the wrong way & he said they were damn near impossible to remove w/o breaking the person's hair if they were rolled on the wrong way, LOL

Someone asked for stories about Lee, so here's mine ...

A while back my sister (of all people) decided to visit Pattaya during her trip through SE Asia. She wanted to see what her big brother was up to here in Thailand's notorious red light town and meet a few of his mates.

She managed a visit to her first go-go pretty well (I wasn't sure if she'd run out of the place like her hair was on fire) and was doing just fine except for the lesbian show, LOL.

So the next night we were off to Noi's Bar so she could meet a few expats and get an idea for sort of crazy folks who live out here. I planned the visit to coincide with the wake for Mark (Helicopter) as I knew there would be a lot of people in attendance.

As everyone who was there knows, it was a terrific party in memory of Mark and a wonderful time was had by all. Jasmin met pretty much everyone in attendance as she was a new face and we don't see a lot of young farang women here to party with their brother.

And of course Lee was the perfect host, making her feel welcome, introducing her to people and being the wonderful man we all know and love. Lee even arranged a taxi for us to get back to Pattaya proper as the festivities wound down late that evening.

A couple of years later, Jasmin still remembers that party as one of her best memories from the entire trip and the lion's share of the credit goes to Lee.

Unfortunately I don't have any pix of that night that show Lee himself, so this one of us with Lee's funny and very entertaining girlfriend will have to do.

R.I.P. Lee, you will be missed by more people than you will ever know. I am just kicking myself that I never made it out to Noi's earlier this year to have another chat with you. Now I'll never get another chance.

Farewell to one of the best people I've ever known, a man who was unfailingly charming and humorous to everyone he met in his own special way. Pattaya is now a much poorer place for our collective loss.

There are a lot of funny incidents that I can remember with Lee , but last trip I was out for a quiet drink with him and a few other BMs . Dont know how it happened but he was giving me a lift back to rawlins place where I was staying .

It was about 2.30 in the morning as we pulled into the road where I was staying . I informed Lee to be careful of the speed bumps since they were severe ones .

No problem he says as he puts his foot down and accelerates the car - we went hurtling down the road , over the bumps with him doing ' whee haws ' on each one as we took off into the air .

As I got out of the car shaking I noticed that I was locked out , Lee shouts 'get the cunt up ' and starts peeping his horn and shouting until rawlins came out . By this time every light in the street was on and he would not shut up . The more I asked him to stop making a noise the more noise he made . FAF , especially to see rawlins face when he came out with just a towel round him .

That was the end of a very enjoyable night out , which was also full of funny incidents , never a dull moment . He was a great character .
