Thank you Shane from Retire-on-550-month.com

We help people find accommodations of all types and have located 1 bedroom fully furnished bungalow in the city and we wish we had 10 more of these, to budget apt from 3k with a/c, bed, dresser, hot water, good location and like new to condo's and houses.

The real estate agents work on commission and bottom line do not really care if the client really gets what they want in our opinion anyways from what we have witnessed.

As to buying housing the best buy is the repo at auction but you need a Thai person with you and these are only held several times a year, and best buy is distress sales .. keep in mind foreigners are not allowed to own houses in their name although if you visit a new housing proect you will see farangs there with their g/f buying.

We have several good houses but we actually specialize in condo's.. short and long term and purchase.

If anyone is visiting and wants short term acoomm give us a shout or if you are looking for long term then again let us know what you want and we will offer what we thinks suits you best or direct you to someone who we trust and can offer more properties.

Hi Andy,

Sorry, I cannot help you with those areas.

You could try www.thaivisa.com in their Chaing Mai section.

Good luck

Cheers

Thanks very much everyone for your replies. It seems buying a house in Chiang mai/Rai is much more difficult than doing it in Pattaya.Trying to get a reply from an estate agent or a lawyer up there is like looking for the holy grail! I've tried emailing and even calling them but get nowhere.I think we will leave it until the Thai Baht picks back up again in a few months and maybe even go to Hua Hin or Cha Am instead.Again i thank you all very much for your replies.
