My comment is related to the fact that as much as I know there are underage girls in Pattaya the Thai bars (such as used to be in Soi 17 Pattaya) were havens for an underage market where girls were held by agents to pay off their families debts, they were mostly underage and that area got cleaned up years ago. My thoughts would be that Thai bars would cater to that market whether in Pattaya or Udon Thani. A friend took me to Soi 17 back 20 years ago, I actually found it a sobering if not unhealthy set up as the girls were lacking in any personality and would only speak to you once you spoke with the Mama San first, it was not the way I wanted to conduct business. Maybe it has changed but I will make do with a bar and a girl where pubity hasn't only recently passed by. It's just my safety net kicking in.

Yes, I think so. Soi 2,3 and 7 (soi communication) I think they call it. I met a young Aussie guy who was staying in a guest-house up there and he took me on a guided tour of the bars and brothels on these sois. There's even a large hotel at the top of a closed road that has basement brothels.
The quality of the girls is outstanding, far nicer than you get in the bars but don't speak English.
